ASD Tutor - Sunbury-On-Thames, Surrey
If it doesn’t challenge you, it won’t change you.
Let’s be honest, you’ve probably lost count of all the young people you’ve worked with who’ve either dropped out of education or been excluded. It’s no surprise to you that part of the problem is that these vulnerable young people aren’t being challenged in a positive way and may not have been provided with the necessary support and resources to succeed…It’s just one big tunnel with no light.
A good education isn’t enough. This is where you come in. Working in the community you'll face a young person with social, domestic and emotional issues. This is their world, and there’s no way out… or is there?
So, what’s the challenge? For you it’s simple.
Keep reading and decide what you’re going to do next.
Do you see yourself as an Education Specialist who's committed to making a positive difference and seeing a young boys life turned around? With your experience in working with young people with ASD and ADHD, social communication difficulties and sensory processing needs, you are able to deliver a bespoke and tailored education. Can you see yourself working 1:1 with a 13 year old student because mainstream isn’t for him? Giving him a fresh start and an opportunity to see life differently, adding a little light at the end of the tunnel.
This work is not for the fainthearted, but for those who are emotionally resilient, non-judgemental, understanding and patient. This young person needs you to make a long term effect in their life.
You’ll inspire him to believe in himself, maybe for the first time. You’ll help him overcome barriers to learning and give him opportunities that he would never have thought of. But most importantly, you’ll be that one person who never gave up on him, always believing and challenging him to do the same.
Now it’s your challenge. What are you going to do?
